Details

The Baro Shibaloy temple is situated on the bank of Choto Jamuna River at Bel Amla Village, three mile north-west to the Joypurhat Sadar. There are twelve Shiv Temples in this naturally beautiful area. The foundation period & founder of these temples are not known exactly. But the structural design of the temples indicates that these were built during the Sen Dynasty. It is assumed so because Sen Raja, Ballov Sen was a worshiper of Shiv. There are some other works of Sen Dynasty present here, such as Lokma Rajbari and Patharghata Panchbibi. As such it implies that Raja Ballal Sen constructed these temples for worship of Shiv.
